Message Five To Produce the Overcomers (3)
I. The church, the Body of Christ, is the pearl of great price which He desires to have—Matt. 13:45-46; Acts 20:28; Eph. 5:25:
A. What Christ wants is this great pearl by His ministry in three stages—incarnation, inclusion, and intensification.
B. The desire of Christ in accomplishing redemption and carrying out His organic salvation is that He would gain the church, which is His Body—Eph. 1:22-23; 5:23.
C. The church, the Body of Christ, as the bride, the wife, of Christ, is the consummation of His complete salvation by His ministry in three stages—John 3:29; 2 Cor. 11:2; Rev. 21:2, 9-10; 22:17a.
D. The preparation of the bride is by Christ's redemption, organic salvation, and the intensified work of His organic salvation—Eph. 5:26-27; Rev. 19:7-8.
II. In order for the Body to be produced in a full and complete way, there is the need of the third stage of Christ's ministry, the stage of intensification, in which Christ becomes the sevenfold intensified life-giving Spirit—1 Cor. 15:45b; Rev. 1:4; 5:6.
III. The sevenfold intensified life-giving Spirit is for the producing of the overcomers so that the Body of Christ can be built up to consummate the New Jerusalem—Rev. 1:4; 4:5; 5:6; 3:1, 12:
A. In His second stage, the stage of His inclusion, Christ produced the churches; however, not much of the Body was produced and built up in an actual and practical way.
B. For this reason Christ has become the sevenfold intensified life-giving Spirit to overcome the degradation of the church that the overcomers may be produced to bring forth the Body.
C. Without the overcomers the Body of Christ cannot be built up, and unless the Body of Christ is built up Christ cannot come back for His bride.
D. The building up of the Body of Christ is by the overcomers produced by Christ in His sevenfold intensified heavenly ministry.
IV. In the church life we need to endeavor to reach the highest peak, today's Zion, of the reality of the Body of Christ—Rev. 14:1:
A. In the New Testament the overcomers are likened to Zion:
1. In Revelation 14:1 the 144,000 overcomers are not just in Jerusalem; they are on the peak of Zion.
2. In the book of Revelation what the Lord wants and what the Lord will build up is Zion, the overcomers.
3. Today in the church age, the God-men who are perfected and matured are Zion, the overcomers, within the churches.
4. The Lord's recovery is to build up Zion.
B. The highest peak in God's economy is Zion, the reality of the Body of Christ.
C. Today in the Lord's recovery, we need to go on and on to reach Mount Zion:
1. There is no other way to reach this high peak except by praying.
2. If we would reach this high peak, we need to be desperate to pray and to pay the cost as the apostle Paul did—Phil. 3:7-11.
V. The overcomers are for the building up of the Body of Christ to consummate the New Jerusalem—Rev. 2:7b; 3:12, 21:
A. The Lord needs the overcomers to carry out the economy of God to have a Body and to destroy His enemy—Eph. 1:10; 3:9; 1 Tim. 1:4; Rev. 12:11.
B. The building up of the Body of Christ by the overcomers in this age is for the initial consummation of the New Jerusalem in the kingdom age and eventually for the full consummation of the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and new earth—Rev. 2:7; 21:2.
C. The overcomers see the Body, know the Body, and care for the Body—Rom. 12:4-5; 1 Cor. 12:12, 18, 24b-27; Eph. 2:16; 4:4, 16; Col. 2:19.
D. The overcomers are those who care for God's interests above everything, including their necessities—Matt. 6:33.
E. The Lord has been delayed because He still needs some who will pay the price to be His overcomers—Rev. 3:18; Matt. 25:9.
F. We must resolve to deny ourselves and be the overcomers for the Lord, for the recovery, and for the Body—Rev. 12:11; 14:1, 4.
