Message Five A Fresh Consecration to Meet the Lord's Present Need
Scripture Reading: Matt. 24:14; Gen. 12:7-8; 13:3-4, 18; Heb. 11:9-10, 13-16; Rom. 12:1-2, 11; Phil. 4:15-19; Luke 16:9
I. The present situation concerning the spread of the Lord's recovery:
A. The Lord's recovery has spread to and is increasing in all six continents.
B. The entire world is open to the Lord's recovery today because people are hungry for the divine truth and Christianity is lacking in it.
C. We are in the final stages of the Lord's recovery for the carrying out of His New Testament economy, and the spreading of the divine truths of the Lord's recovery will be a preparation for the Lord's coming back—Matt. 24:14.
D. The Lord's recovery is kept in oneness because of the increased blending of the saints, the churches, the co-workers, and the elders universally.
II. The Lord's present need in His recovery:
A. There is a tremendous need to further spread the gospel, including the truths in the Lord's recovery, and the proper church life to the whole earth.
B. There is a great need to have a complete change from the old, traditional, unscriptural way of meeting and serving to the God-ordained way as revealed in the New Testament.
C. There is a desperate need to gain the solid increase through the practice of the vital groups.
D. There is the ultimate need for all the saints to practice the vision of the high peak of the divine revelation to have a model of a God-man life; this model will be a genuine revival that brings the Lord back.
III. To meet the need of the Lord's recovery today, we need a fresh consecration to live a life of the altar and the tent—Gen. 12:7-8; 13:3-4, 18:
A. Recovery is a matter of returning to the altar and the tent.
B. An altar means that we are here on earth all for God and serve God:
1. An altar means that we do not keep anything for ourselves, that our life is for God, that God is our life, and that the meaning of our life is God.
2. We are not here making a name for ourselves; we are putting everything on the altar for the sake of His name.
C. A tent is an expression, a declaration, that we do not belong to this world:
1. When we have a tent with God's presence, we have the deep sensation within that nothing here on earth is lasting, that everything is temporary.
2. By pitching a tent we declare that we belong to another country; we do not like this country, this earth, this world; we are sojourners waiting for a city with foundations—the New Jerusalem—Heb. 11:9-10, 13-16.
D. We must take the lead to reconsecrate ourselves to the Lord:
1. By offering our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, that is, presenting our entire being to the Lord without any reservation, not keeping any part of ourselves for ourselves—Rom. 12:1.
2. By being renewed in our mind so that we will not be fashioned according to today's age, that is, not become deceived by the practical world in front of us to follow it secretly—Rom. 12:2.
3. By not being slothful in zeal but burning in spirit, serving the Lord—Rom. 12:11.
IV. We must carry out the fellowship unto the gospel for the increase and spread of the Lord's recovery:
A. In God's salvation He desires that we plunder the world of its wealth for the sake of His testimony, just as when the Israelites left Egypt, they plundered it of its gold for the building of the tabernacle—Exo. 11:2-3; 12:35-36:
1. We should tell the saints to make a gain of the world's riches through their labor in the righteous way, not for themselves or for their own enjoyment but to have something for the Lord's spending.
2. We must train the saints to be faithful to give their material increase to the Lord for His purpose, and He will give them a bountiful blessing in return—Phil. 4:19.
3. Through our giving of the unrighteous mammon we make many friends who will welcome us when we enter into the eternal tabernacles—Luke 16:9.
4. What we give becomes something that increases to our heavenly account and a sweet savor that is well-pleasing to God—Phil. 4:15-18.
B. The practical way for the money-making full-timers to support the job-dropping full-timers for the furtherance of the kingdom, of God's economy:
1. In any church, out of twenty there must be one who drops his job to take the full-time way to preach and teach, and the nineteen others should do their best regularly to put aside a portion of their monthly income to support such a one.
2. We must charge the dear saints that besides their regular giving to the Lord through the church, they should give an additional five percent of their income every month uniquely for the fellowship unto the gospel.
3. Every church should have a separate "Fellowship unto the Gospel" account.
4. We do not need a fund-raising movement; for the long run, we simply need a regular, weekly practice of giving in this way which is easy, unique, and universal, and which will be blessed by the Lord.
