Message Six Becoming the New Jerusalem through the Process of God's Organic Salvation (4) The Experience of Conformation and Glorification
Scripture Reading: Rom. 8:28-30; Col. 1:27; 3:4; 1 John 3:2; Rev. 4:2-3; 21:2, 10-11
I. All the God-men, the believers in Christ, need to be conformed to the image of the firstborn Son of God, living a life crucified in the human life to live by the divine life that they may be the real God-men to be the expression of God in humanity with the divine attributes lived out from humanity, to be the reality of the church as the organic Body of Christ, consummating in the New Jerusalem—Rom. 8:29; 12:4-5; Rev. 21:2:
A. Being conformed to the image of God's firstborn Son is our maturity in the divine life through which we participate in God's divinity in full—Rom. 8:29:
1. For us to participate in God's divinity means that God is making us God in His life, in His nature, in His thinking, and in His expression.
2. The believers will manifest God in life, in nature, in inward thinking, and in outward expression to enjoy the divine sonship—Eph. 1:5; Rom. 8:23, 18; Col. 3:4; 1 John 3:2:
a. When God is manifested, revealed, we, the sons of God, will participate in that revelation, in that manifestation—Rom. 8:19.
b. God will be manifested with His sons, who will be the same as He is in life, in nature, in mind, in being, in image, and in glory—1 John 3:2.
B. God has predestinated us to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers—Rom. 8:29; 1:4; Eph. 1:5:
1. As the divine life grows within us and transforms us, it spontaneously shapes us into the form, the image, of the firstborn Son of God—Rom. 8:2; Heb. 8:10.
2. To be conformed to the image of the firstborn Son is to be saved in Christ's life from self-likeness, that is, from the expression, the appearance, of the self—Rom. 5:10b; Matt. 16:23-24.
3. If we would be conformed to the image of the firstborn Son of God, we need to be conformed to Christ's death in all things through the power of His resurrection—Phil. 3:10; S. S. 2:8-14.
4. We are to be conformed to the image of God's firstborn Son, Christ as the first God-man, that we may be a group of God-men who are exactly like Him—Rom. 8:28-29:
a. Such a conformation makes us the reprints of God's firstborn Son that we may be exactly like God in His righteousness and holiness—Eph. 4:24.
b. For Christ to be the firstborn Son of God, He needs us, the "twins," to be conformed to His image—Rom. 8:29.
c. In this way, Christ can be the Firstborn among God's many sons so that God may obtain the corporate expression of His firstborn Son with the many sons to accomplish His eternal purpose—Eph. 1:11; 3:11.
II. Glorification is the final step in God's organic salvation in which God will completely saturate our body with the glory of His life and nature—Rom. 8:30; 2 Thes. 1:10; Rev. 21:10-11:
A. God glorifies us that we may have His divine image in full—4:2-3; 21:10-11.
B. The divine glorification of the glorified believers makes the consummated believers participate in God's divinity to the uttermost—2 Pet. 1:4.
C. The matured believers will be glorified from within through the lifelong saturation with the glory of God and from without through their being brought into God's glory—Col. 1:27; Heb. 2:10.
D. The sealing of the sealing Spirit saturates the sealed believers from within with the glorious life element of God throughout their life, resulting in the redemption and transfiguration of their body—Eph. 4:30; Phil. 3:21.
E. When our body is transfigured, the death in our mortal body will be swallowed up by the resurrection life—2 Cor. 5:4; 1 Cor. 15:54.
F. We need to be one in the divine glory for the corporate expression of God—John 17:22; Eph. 3:21.
G. Glorification is the ultimate step of God's organic salvation, wherein God obtains a full expression, which will be manifested ultimately in the New Jerusalem—Rev. 21:10-11.
III. The consummation of God's organic salvation is the New Jerusalem—the universal incorporation of the union and mingling of divinity with humanity—the processed and consummated Triune God incorporated with His regenerated, sanctified, renewed, transformed, conformed, and glorified tripartite elect—vv. 2, 10-11.
IV. "God is working His life, nature, mind, and element into us in order to make us God in life, in nature, in mind, and in expression. Regarding this, I have a very heavy burden for you all, especially for the co-workers and elders….I am very concerned that you may not realize and acknowledge that God has imparted His life into us, that He is working His nature into our nature, that He is working His mind into our mind, and that He is working the element of His unsearchable riches into our entire being, especially into our spirit and our soul. Eventually, when our body is glorified, we will be the same as God in every part of our being. This is not a human thought—it is the divine revelation. We all need to see this and we all need to pray, ‘Lord, work Yourself into me richly in every aspect—in the aspects of Your life, Your nature, Your mind, and Your rich element—to make my whole being, spirit, soul, and body, the same as You are'" (The Secret of God's Organic Salvation, pp. 42-43).
