Message Two Living Out the Life of Christ in a Corporate Way and Coordinating Together as the Corporate Christ in the Reality of the Body of Christ for God's Up-to-date and Ultimate Move
Scripture Reading: Ezek. 1:5-21; Matt. 28:19; 24:14
I. "In the last three or four years, from 1994 to this day, there has been a change in the Lord's move in His recovery because of the change in the release of the truth…You must enter into the new age. Whatever you do, you must enter into the new age. If you do not enter into the new age, you will be nullified. The Lord has His move…In the last few years I wondered why the Lord gave me these words. Now it is clear to me that the Lord will use the high truths to end the age and bring in His second coming. This will prepare His bride. These truths are not only for those among us. They are for all of God's children over the whole earth" (compiled from notes in a meeting with Brother Lee on July 11, 1996).
II. We should not think that when we enter into the local church life, we have reached the goal of God's eternal economy; we need to be in the local churches so that we can be ushered into, brought into, the reality of the Body of Christ; the economy of God is for the Body of Christ—Eph. 1:22-23:
A. The reality of the Body of Christ is the corporate living by the perfected Godmen, who are genuine men not living by their life but by the life of the processed God, whose attributes have been expressed through their virtues.
B. The reality of the Body of Christ is the aggregate, the totality, of such a living by a group of God-men; this kind of living, which is the reality of the Body of Christ, will close this age, the age of the church, and will bring Christ back to take, possess, and rule over this earth with these God-men in the kingdom age.
III. The reality of the Body of Christ is signified in Ezekiel 1 by the four living creatures, who are a corporate expression of Christ, living out the life of Christ in a corporate way and coordinating together as one corporate entity, the corporate Christ, for His expression, move, and administration—vv. 5-14, 20, 26; cf. 1 Cor. 12:12 and footnote 2:
A. The living creatures move as one entity in coordination; each of the living creatures faces one direction (facing north, south, east, and west respectively), and two of their wings spread out and touch the adjacent creatures' wings, forming a square.
B. No matter which direction the living creatures are moving in, there is no need for any of them to turn; one simply goes straight forward; one returns, moving backward; and the other sides move sideways.
C. This is a beautiful picture of the coordination in the church as the Body of Christ, in which each member has his particular position and function, or ministry— Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:14-30; Eph. 4:7-16.
D. When one member functions, he moves "straight forward" to fulfill his function, and the other members accommodate him by moving in the same direction, with some moving "backward" and others moving "sideways."
E. The coordination of the four living creatures is in the grace of Christ as the divine power, the divine strength, and the divine supply, because the eagles' wings are the means by which they are coordinated and move as one—Ezek. 1:9, 11; Exo. 19:4; Isa. 40:31; 2 Cor. 12:9; 1 Cor. 15:10.
F. The result of the coordination of the living creatures is that they become burning coals and burning torches; the more we coordinate together, the more we burn one another; the fire is not static but always moving to and fro among the living creatures, because in their fellowship they allow God to move freely among them, causing them to run with the divine power and impact due to their one accord—Ezek. 1:13-14; Acts 1:14.
IV. In the book of Ezekiel, God's economy and God's move in His economy are signified by a wheel; the hub of this great wheel signifies Christ as the center of God's economy, and the rim signifies Christ's counterpart, the church, which consummates in the New Jerusalem; the spokes of the wheel spreading from the hub to the rim signifies the many believers as the members of Christ—1:15-21; cf. Col. 1:17b, 18b; 3:10-11:
A. The appearing of the high and awesome wheels on the earth beside the living creatures indicates that God's move follows the coordination of the four living creatures; if there is no coordination, there cannot be the move of the great wheel of God's economy—Ezek. 1:15-21; Matt. 6:10.
B. The wheels having the appearance of beryl indicates that wherever the wheel goes, it brings the appearance of the Lord; the wheels having the same appearance indicates that the move of the Lord has the same likeness and appearance in every church—Ezek. 1:16; Dan. 10:6; Rev. 1:12; 1 Thes. 2:14.
C. The high and awesome rims of the wheels being full of eyes indicates that if we are one with the Lord in His move, we will have His divine insight, foresight, and revelation; the more we participate in the move of the Lord, the more we will be able to see—Ezek. 1:18; Eph. 1:17.
D. The inner wheel is the motor, the dynamo, the generator, which causes the wheel to move; if our move is genuine, it must be that within our move is the move of the Lord—cf. Rom. 1:9; 8:16; Col. 1:17-18.
E. The wheels following the living creatures indicates that the move of God's work depends upon our moving—Ezek. 1:19; cf. Eccl. 11:4.
F. The wheels follow the living creatures, and the creatures follow the Spirit, but the Spirit is in the wheels, indicating that the move of the Lord in our move is in the principle of incarnation—Ezek. 1:20; cf. 1 Cor. 7:10; Acts 16:6-10.
V. The Lord's present charge to us for His up-to-date and ultimate move should be: go and teach the nations (cf. Matt. 28:19) that the present age may be consummated (24:14):
A. Before the Lord comes back to crush the totality of human government and establish His divine kingdom on earth, the gospel of the kingdom, the truths of the Lord's recovery, must be spread to the whole earth—Dan. 2:34-35; 11:32b.
B. Europe still remains as a region in which the Lord's recovery needs to be rooted and to grow; the spreading of the Lord's recovery must be considered as a part of our ultimate responsibility for His ultimate move—Rom. 10:14-15.
C. We must be sober and alert so that the Lord may grant each of us the proper guidance —whether to stay or to go, where to go, and the way to go; a move like this is living; it is the Lord's move in His Body—Acts 16:6-10; cf. footnote 2 of v. 10.
